It’s not hard to find a DUANE READE to shop in –
What’s hard is shopping in DUANE READE.

They basically stock what you want –
But what you want is never in stock.

Every store is just the same.

Long lines of people
In front of long counters
Behind which stand
Long lines of registers
And one person working.

To make a quick purchase
Give yourself an hour or so.
Everything is mis-marked including gum –
Which requires that one person to
Come out from behind the counter –
To make sure you read the sign correctly,
Which of course you did.

But the scanner scanned the old price.
